One shows that the installer is using Windows Update to check for drivers. X Core USB Audio 2.0 fails to install on any W7 machine I have access to.

Still no joy on any W7 machine all with SP1 and the XMOS drivers all fail to install. At least the amp works and it's a driver issue I suppose. I was told to disable ASIO and use WASAPI but can't get them to work. Ok with a bit more work I can get it to work on a W10 machine with the ASIO driver but not the WASAPI one.
I've also tried on another W7 laptop and same issue USB Audio 2.0 driver fails to install.Īny ideas? Can anyone suggest an alternative? I'm running W7, SP1 on a Precision M4600 with 8Gb ram. Having said that, Snakeoil is designed to suit your purpose, if you want to start X and install Cantata, it can be done as you have full control over the OS. Running heavy apps over a virtual desktop defeats the purpose. Remember SnakeoilOS is designed to be headless (no monitor or keyboard attached). If you installed Cantata on another PC, then naturally it will be able to connect to the SnakeoilOS.

Originally started as a fork of QtMPC, can be compiled with KDE support, Qt5 or Qt4 (runs on Linux, Windows and Mac OS X)This isn't practical to be included in Snakeoil. The client175 is included because it is a web client, work well in general. If you prefer console access, you can use that too. Ncmpcpp for consolencmpc should be installed. I do try as many fixes as possible before posting so as to ease your workload.:-)Ignore the params entry for now as MPD only opens the audio device when music is playing.įirst of all, is MPD working? I assume it to be a No because you said MPD is dead. (0, 02:29 PM)Bromf Wrote: Upgrade to firmware 0.1.5c, MPD should work then. Right now just going to finish up a 1.0.0 Snakeoil beta, and once that is out, I'd start working on the universal client. If you have a good one to recommend, i'd add it in.Įventually I'd be coding up a universal Snakeoil client that'd work with most of the players. client 175 is the pits. There's not a lot of good clients out there (for MPD or Squeezelite).
